ECO-Organic Soap Making Workshop

Take back home sumatra´s botanical scents

Are you interested to know more about sumatra´s local flora and fauna

AND

do you love nature, a healthy life and a happy longlasting planet?

Then this unique natural soap making workshop will be a fantastic choice!

Especially for familys with kids, this can be a great activity to have fun by creating something on their own and also learn about local flowers, plants and herbs by the way.

During this ecofriendly workshop, you will spend the morning at Aini´s lovely place. She runs a homestay with a beautiful organic garden and produces organic beauty products made 100% from ingredients of her marvelous botanical garden.

After having a short tour around her place which is beautifully located in the middle of ricefields and with the jungle on the background and enjoying a herbal drink ( made from Aini´s garden magic), she will show you her organic garden and you can pick all the fresh and natural ingerdients you will need for your own soap. During that, Aini will explain lots of cool facts about the local flora.

After that you will prepare everything together with Aini to start the soap making process with the hot method using only natural ingredients such as homemade natural coconut glycerin/oil, aloe vera, etc. This method is 100% safe and environmental friendly; no lye or caustic soda will be used like in the cold method....so no chemicals, no plastic, no harm for this amazing environment!

Kids will be amazed and excited to produce their own little soap by creating natural colours from the flowers and plants they have harvested just before in Aini´s garden.

And its a great way to educate them about sustainable and ecofriendly life and raise their egological awareness.

Plus for kids there is a cute little surprise waiting...a little toy will be placed inside their soaps:)

Think about the lovely smell of your own handmade soaps....lemongrass is our favourite! Wondering which one will be yours:)

Will be such a lovely memory and souvenir to bring back home....every time you use this soap back home, you will think back to Sumatra, Bukit Lawang, the rainforest, orangutans, Aini....and hopefully us:)

This tour is part of our ecotourism program, established in 2016.

It is one of our responsibilities to help our community and support local entrepreneurs.

Aini is one of them; and she is our friend and partner since many years.

We still know here when she was a student at a local englisch school project and now she runs her own business . It is amazing what she has build up and created on her own; especially as a woman. She is a role model for next generations and local women empowernment and we absolutely admire her work and life!

We also order Aini´s soaps for our JUNGLE DREAMS bungalow and guests in order to reduce the impacts of tourism as much as possible and fullfill our aim for a plastic-free and ecofriendly performance.

Her company is called APES....Aini´s pure eco soaps. She also produces liquid soaps, body butter, coconut oil. All her products are organic, fresh, natural and healthy for your skin! Aini will be happy to show you more of her work.
